To protect the Amazon hand in hand with the indigenous communities.
Vision
A safeguarded and resilient Amazon with innovative solutions and strategies of conservation, and environmental welfare paradigms, which are the result of dialogue and action between the Indigenous and non-indigenous knowledge systems.
Values that guide us
Integral approach:
An interdisciplinary and multi-level analysis is developed from culture, nature, society, territory, the individual and the collective, as complementary dimensions that are integrated in the processes and actions that are developed with the indigenous communities.
Cultural diversity and traditional knowledge
We recognizes the pluralism of knowledge systems and the multiplicity of cultures of the Amazon from an intercultural dialogue that gives an appreciation to the commonality and the particular of indigenous communities and peoples through the promotion of that which unites us as humanity.
Joint responsibility:
Cooperation between indigenous communities, the State, civil society and the private sector is encouraged in order to build harmonious, sustainable and united processes around the common good.
Gender Equality
As a transversal axis, the aim is to promote gender equality by recognizing that women and men have different needs and priorities, They face different problems and contribute in a complementary way to community, cultural, political and economic action.
Relationship
Gaia Amazonas focuses its activities on safeguarding the cultural and biological diversity of the Amazon. To this end, it develops cooperation actions with the different communities local authorities, grassroots organizations, civil society organizations and public actors to promote social and environmental welfare and conservation of the rainforests.
