On July 14 of this year, the Scientific Panel for the Amazon (SPA) presented a 33-chapter report on the Amazon. Gaia Amazonas had an active participation in the authorship of some excerpts from the report.
Deforestation in 2020 was concentrated in the Amazon region, where 109,302 hectares of forest were lost, 11,000 hectares more than in 2019.
